"The executive council of the ODS is watching with concern the real objectives of the Russian aggression, which was the violation of Georgia's territorial integrity, the final secession of South Ossetia and Abkhazia and the replacement of President Mikheil Saakashvili's pro-Western government with a pro-Russian regime," the ODS says in its resolution.
Russian troops entered Georgia in early August after Tbilisi tried to dominate its province South Ossetia by force. "Georgia's rash reaction to the growing separatist tendencies in South Ossetia must not erase the fact that the development had been deliberately incited by Russia in the long run," the ODS added. Russia is against NATO's enlargement to Georgia and Ukraine. The USA and Germany want Georgia to join NATO.
