Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir has agreed to restore diplomatic ties with neighbouring Chad.
The announcement came after a meeting in Senegal's capital Dakar between the Sudanese and Chadian foreign ministers. Sudan cut diplomatic ties in May, after rebels from the the western Sudanese region of Darfur attacked the capital Khartoum. Bashir accused Ndjamena of backing Darfur rebels, a charge Chad denies.
